History

Some history of the project

• 2018/05 Jia Li initiated the eDrops website project (attempted to use WordPress)

• 2018/08 Jia Li and Leo Wang changed the architecture to “Loopback + React” and started over

• 2018/08 – 2020/02 Leo Wang developed Edrop 1.0

• 2020/03 – 2021/06 Danning Yu developed & deployed eDrops 2.0, built and led the eDrops team to improve some features

  • 2020/04: Project renamed from Edrop to eDrops to align with domain name edrops.org

• 2022/09 Kenneth Tang begins development of eDrops 3.0, modernizing codebase using updated React, TailwindCSS, no more JQuery, Loopback v4

  • 2023/02: Project is rebranded from eDrops to eDroplets to avoid naming conflict and domain is moved to edroplets.org
